A death investigation is underway in Pulaski County after a Rockcastle County man was found inside the home of an unresponsive woman while possessing drugs and cash.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said 76-year-old Johnnie Bullock is facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in heroin, trafficking in an unspecified drug, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an unspecified drug.
Law enforcement was called to a home on Shoreline Drive off Highway 80 Sunday evening for a welfare check on a woman identified as 62-year-old Linda Lawson after family members said they had not spoken to her in several hours.
Upon arrival, officers could hear a man inside the residence, but he would not answer the door. Officers later made contact with the man, identified as Bullock, but officers had to force entry into the home where they found Lawson unresponsive. When entering the residence, officers reportedly found Bullock laying on top of Lawson on the bed.
Local EMS attempted life-saving measures on Lawson, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.
Inside the residence, officers found more than 900 grams of methamphetamine, more than 50 grams of heroin, several other drugs, and more than $3,500 in cash.
The investigation is ongoing by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, and reports say that no foul play was suspected.
