Kentucky State Police is reportedly investigating the death of a child in Adair County.
According to the Adair County Community Voice, law enforcement launched an investigation after local EMS responded to a report that CPR was being performed on a 3-year-old boy Tuesday night and some reported “suspicious circumstances” regarding the incident.
Local EMS was called out just after 8:30 Tuesday night to a home on Jay Wheeler Road off Highway 1952 after a call came in that a father returned home to find the child unconscious and not breathing.
According to The Voice, the child had been with the mother, and when the father arrived, the child was carried to a neighbor’s house where CPR was performed.
The child later passed away, according to the newspaper, and authorities are investigating what happened.
