The Russell County Fiscal Court moved forward with planned renovations at the Russell County Courthouse at the court’s meeting earlier this week.
The plan is to renovate the courthouse steps to make them more accessible as well as the front entrance which has been a trip hazard for many people entering the courthouse.
Judge Executive Randy Marcum said those issues make the renovations necessary, but it will also improve the appearance of the courthouse with Russell County’s 200-year anniversary coming up in 2025.
