Robin Minton, age 61, of Russell Springs

Robin Minton, of Russell Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset.  She was 61 years of age.

Born August 25, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Robin was the first of two daughters born to the late Merkel and Faye Smith Zimmerman.  After moving back to Russell County, the family started attending Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church where Robin became a member at a young age.  Robin met Jeff Minton at South KY Separate Baptist Youth Camp; and after more than 4 years of courtship, the two married July 18, 1981, at Bethlehem.  Robin started working at First National Bank at age 17.  After 44 years in bookkeeping, she was still an employee of the bank at the time of her passing.

Robin loved spending time with her family. She cherished family reunions and get-togethers; talking, singing, and laughing. She was a devout Christian and loved her church family with her whole heart. During basketball season you could always find Robin cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats. She fully supported and was so proud of her children, grandchild, nieces, and nephews in all of their various endeavors. She eventually talked Jeff into getting a cat, she found joy in the entertainment that Penny, her cat, provided. She has been blessed with the friendship of many great coworkers throughout her decades at First National Bank.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jeff Minton; her son, Eric (and Chrissy) Minton, of Somerset; her daughter, Bethany Minton (and Travis Phillippe), of Russell Springs; her sister, Rhonda (and Dean) Roy, of Russell Springs; her granddaughter, Nadine Scott; three nieces, Lesley Roy and Allison Roy, of Russell Springs and Whitney (and Clifton) Drew, of Somerset; two nephews, Devin Norton and Aaron Norton, of Somerset; father and mother-in-law, Wendell and Eudene Minton, of Somerset; and sister-in-law, Lisa (and David) Norton, of Somerset.

Robin is preceded in death by her parents, Merkel and Faye Zimmerman.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church, with Bro. Mark Polston and Bro. Troy Coffey officiating.  Interment will follow in Square Oak Cemetery.
