Lakers fall short at Warren East

The Laker Baseball team dropped another close game on the road last night, falling by a score of 10-9.

The Lakers jumped out to a 5-0 lead early, and led 6-2 after three innings, but the Raiders scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to take the lead.

The Lakers attempted to rally in the 7th, but came up just short, as the Lakers fall to 19-8 on the season.

Mayes Gosser led Russell County at the plate with 4 hits, driving in 2 runs. Mason Jasper finished with a pair of hits and 3 runs batted in.

Adam Walters got the start on the mound, pitching 3 1/3 innings and giving up 5 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits and striking out 1.

The Lakers will look to get back on track Monday when they host Glasgow. That game will be our Stephens Pipe and Steel Laker Baseball Game of the Week, with pregame coverage beginning at 5:15 and first pitch at 5:30.
