The Russell County Lady Laker Golf team is off to a strong start this season.
To start the season, the Lady Lakers defeated Adair County in a match at Lakewood Country Club.
The Lady Lakers had a final score of 177, defeating Adair County which finished at 236.
Breanna Trautman led the way for Russell County with a score of 38 for the day, followed by Madalyn Wright with a 44, Carleen Meyers with a 46, and Carly Shearer with a 49.
Catherine Wright shot a 53, Carly Stop finished with a 56, Addison Hopper with a 59, and Porter Branscum with a 70.
In their opening tournament at Burnside State Park, the Lady Lakers finished with a score of 379, finishing 4th in the 7-team field.
Breanna Trautman led the way with a score of 83, followed by Madalyn Wright with a score of 96, Carleen Meyers with a 99, and Carly Shearer at 101.
