The Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents has approved a $2,000 base salary increase for regular full-time employees and voted to increase tuition at all KCTCS colleges, including Somerset Community College.
The $4 per credit hour tuition increase is for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year. This brings in-state tuition rates to $186 and $250 for out-of-state students that attend KCTCS.
Despite this increase, officials say KCTCS tuition remains the lowest in the state and is about half the cost of university tuition.
