Details still unknown following wreck on Cumberland Parkway yesterday afternoon

We are still learning details about a two-vehicle collision that occurred on the Cumberland Parkway yesterday afternoon.

WJRS News has learned first responders were called out at about 2:30 yesterday afternoon near the 67 mile marker on the Cumberland Parkway.

Reports are that a minivan with children in the vehicle was hit in the rear and two helicopters landed at Russell County Hospital.

The names and conditions of those involved has not yet been released.

Chief Deputy Jerry Melson and Deputy Corey Meyer from the Russell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with Russell County EMS and nine members of the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
