Russell County’s Sharon York has been named Foster Parent of the Year by the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services for the Cumberland Service Region.
The department recognizes foster parents from each of its 9 regions every year for their work within the foster system.
York was specifically recognized for her work with high-acuity youth, or children that need intensive services for severe behavioral or emotional challenges.
