A 2022 Russell County High School graduate has received a prestigious honor following her freshman year at the University of Kentucky.
Sophie Shearer, the daughter of Kevin and Joy Shearer, recently received UK’s Freshman Agricultural Education Student of the Year award.
Graduates from the AgEd program have found jobs as classroom teachers within public and private school districts, loan officers, sales representatives, educators for non-profit agriculture commodity groups, and consultants for state agencies such as State Departments of Agriculture and States Department of Education.
