Russell Springs receives funding to buy safety equipment for fire department

The city of Russell Springs, this week, received a check for $1,500 from the Kentucky League of Cities to go toward purchasing much-needed safety equipment for the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

Chris Hayes with the KLC was in town to present the check to City Clerk Chris Ramsey.

The funding comes from the KLC’s Safety Grant program, where 50/50 matching grants provide KLC Insurance Services member cities and agencies with funds for programs, services, and equipment to keep communities and people safe and reduce injury claims.

Recipients can use the money on various items, including personal protective equipment (PPE), KLC Insurance Services Risk and Safety Conference attendance, safety training, and safety equipment.
