A Russell Springs man incarcerated in Columbia is now facing additional charges, according to Columbia police.
Just after 1 a.m., this morning, 48-year-old Barry Kerr, an inmate from the Adair Regional Jail, was transported by Adair EMS to TJ Samson Columbia after complaining of an illness. Once at TJ Samson, police say Kerr attempted to flee on foot before being overtaken by jail staff and placed back in custody.
Kerr, of Russell Springs, was charged with escape 2nd degree. Kerr has been an inmate since January of this year for drug charges.
Officer Elliot Smith was the arresting Officer.
