Russell County among 30 in KY that could benefit from Americorps grant

Yesterday, Governor Andy Beshear’s office announced $14.7 million in Americorps grants for various projects around the state.

Among those is more than $723,000 for the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers Corps.

The grant helps provide literacy tutoring and address food insecurity in economically disadvantaged schools in Central and Eastern Kentucky, and Russell County is one of 30 counties within the service area.

Russell, Wayne, Pulaski, and Casey counties are area counties included in the grant funding.
