Russell County High School senior Ashten Wall is one of three recipients of the Carol Barr Memorial Scholarship.
Wall is the daughter of Sherri and Jeron Wall, and is the first Russell County resident to receive the scholarship.
The scholarship is named in memory of Carol Barr, the late wife of U.S. Representative Andy Barr who represents Kentucky’s 6th District, who passed away from a heart condition in 2020.
Wall was the only applicant in the 52-county area to receive unanimous approval from the scholarship board, comprised of family and friends of Carol.
Wall plans on attending the University of Kentucky to major in neuroscience with a minor in biology.
