Addison Coffey has come up big all season for the Russell County Middle School Lady Laker Soccer team, and Coffey did it again Tuesday night, scoring a goal with just five seconds remaining to lift the Lady Lakers over Northern Pulaski by a score of 2-1 in the district semifinals.
Bella Blakey added the other goal for Russell County and goalkeeper Misha Gregory came up clutch, giving up just one goal and recording 10 saves.
The 2-seed Lady Lakers will play for the district championship on Thursday at Southwestern where they will play the 1-seed Southern Middle School.
Southern won both regular season matchups, with each game being decided by one goal.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
