South Kentucky RECC is continuing to make progress on power outages in the area, although some Russell County residents are now on their 6th day without power.
Mutual aid crews from states such as Georgia, Louisiana, and Arkansas have helped address some power outages, as South Kentucky RECC now reports less than two percent of its customers are still facing outages.
In Russell County, that number is now under 4 percent.
Local crews, along with mutual aid crews, are continuing to work in various areas of the county.
At its peak, nearly half of South Kentucky’s RECC customers without power which included more than 5,000 in Russell County.
