Nearly 2,200 workers commute in to Russell County

A new report from the Kentucky Center for Statistics examines commuting patterns across the commonwealth.

The data shows nearly 2,200 workers commuted into Russell County for work in the year 2019, the most recent year data was available.

Those 2,187 workers come from several different places, both neighboring counties and further away.

According to the data, 650 came from Adair County, 250 from Pulaski County, and 209 from Casey County.

From there, the numbers drop significantly.

According to the data, 76 came from Taylor County, 48 from Wayne, and 42 from Clinton.

Additionally, 40 came from Barren, McCreary and Jefferson counties.

A total of 795 workers came from other counties not mentioned above.
