More than 250,000 state voters voted early

Over the three-day period of early voting last week, a total of 253,018 voters took advantage of Kentucky’s expanded voting access, according to the Secretary of State Michael Adams.

Of that number, 121,280 were Republicans, 117,576 were Democrats, and 14,162 were Independents.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday all saw steady crowds at times throughout the day at the South Kentucky RECC Community Room in Jamestown, where local early voting took place.

Adams said that early voting doesn’t help a party, but helps all of the state’s voters.
