State unemployment rate is 3.8 percent

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate for September was 3.8 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency within the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet (KELC).

The preliminary September jobless rate was unchanged from August but was down 0.9 percentage points from the 4.7 percent recorded for the state one year ago.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for September was 3.5 percent, which was down 0.2 percentage points from August, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
