RCMS scores yellow in new state report

Russell County Middle School scored yellow in the new state report card data released earlier this week.

Yellow indicates a medium score, or the third-highest score of the five scores possible.

RCMS students exceeded state averages in the number of students scoring proficient or distinguished in reading, math, and science, but Russell County Middle School’s writing score was about 8 percent lower than state average.

RCMS came in lower than state average for the number of students scoring novice or apprentice in each subject area, aside from writing where RCMS came in about 8 percent higher than state average.

Russell County Middle School received a federal classification of targeted support and improvement for students with disabilities due to scores among this student group.
