Jamestown Council approves city tax decrease

The Jamestown City Council voted to approve the second reading of an ordinance that lowers the city tax rate at its meeting last night.

Real and personal property will be taxed at 15.8 cents per $100 of assessed value.

That’s down from 16.8 cents the year before.

The council unanimously approved the new tax rate at last night’s meeting.
