Just days after a countywide burn ban was issued for Russell County by Judge-Executive Gary Robertson, neighboring Adair County saw their own burn ban lifted on Sunday by Adair Judge-Executive Gale Cowan following this past weekend’s rainfall.
Cowan asked that Adair residents still use caution when burning and that the burn ban could be reinstated if the area doesn’t see any additional rainfall soon.
At the current time, outdoor burning is not allowed in Russell County with violators being subject to fines and penalties.
The ban is in place locally until further advisement from county officials.
