Library saw increase in visitors and use over last year

The Russell County Public Library saw an increase in the number of visitors and use over the past year according to new data released by the library.

For the 21-22 fiscal year, the library had 684 meeting room uses which was up from 89 the year before, and an increase of more than 8,000 visitors to the library. The library reported 29,150 people who entered the facility during that time span, compared to 20,934 the year before.

The library also saw an increase in library card holders, from 10,569 the year prior to 11,337.

Library programs also jumped dramatically, with 340 programs held and an attendance of 6,182, nearly three times more than the year prior.

The library also saw a significant increase in web traffic, and saw more than 26,000 books be checked out along with more than 13,000 Ebooks.
