2 die in separate crashes in Clinton Co. over Labor Day weekend

Two people died in two separate traffic accidents in neighboring Clinton County over Labor Day weekend, according to Randy Speck of WANY Radio in Albany.

On Saturday night, 19-to year-old Jaleigh McIntyre of Albany died after her 2014 Nissan collided with a 2014 Chevrolet pickup driven by 70-year-old Roy Denney of New Castle, Indiana. The accident happened just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of KY’s 90 and 558. Denney’s vehicle then collided with a 2015 Chevrolet, driven by Erika Harlan of Monticello. McIntyre was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, then to UK Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. Denney was transported to Medical Center Albany.

Then, on Sunday, 79-year-old David Thrasher of Albany was killed in two-vehicle accident shortly before 6 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 127 and KY 553. The accident happened when Thrasher’s pickup encountered another vehicle driven by Ronnie K. Neal of Albany that had failed to stop at the intersection. Thrasher was ejected from his truck after it left the road and overturned.

Both accidents were investigated by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, assisted by Clinton County EMS and the Albany Fire Department.
