The Russell County Board of Education and Fiscal Court each held special-called meetings Friday morning to clear up deeds related to a property that Artworks is planning to purchase.
The property behind Jamestown Elementary is reportedly a planned future home for the local nonprofit, but deeds through the years have included restrictions on farming and manufacturing, among others.
The board of education and the fiscal court, each of which have deeds on properties, voted unanimously to remove the restrictions from their respective deeds.
