The Russell County High School soccer teams swept Monroe County in district action last night.
The Lady Lakers picked up a 2-1 win over the Lady Falcons, with freshman Maddison Weisbrodt and sophomore Adriana Thomas each scoring a goal for the Lady Lakers.
It was the first win on the young season for the Lady Lakers, as they move to 1-2 on the season.
In the nightcap, the Lakers also picked up their first win of the season, also a 2-1 final over the Falcons.
Geison Maradiaga and Alex Maradiaga each scored a goal for Russell County in the win.
With the win, the Lakers improve to 1-1 on the season.
The Lakers are back at home tonight, hosting Garrard County.
The Lady Lakers have a week off before hosting district rival Clinton County next Monday.
