Laker, Lady Laker Golf in competition over the weekend

Both the Laker and Lady Laker golf teams were in action over the weekend.

The Laker golf team was on the road at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in the LaRue County Invitational on Saturday.

The Lakers finished the day with a team score of 337, finishing 12th in the 21-team field.

Senior Bentley Perkerson led the Lakers with a score of 79, followed by freshmen Daylon Blevins and Noah McMillin with scores of 82 and 84.

Sophomore Kole Rixon finished the day with a 92, and fellow sophomore Parker Johnson shot a 97.

The Laker Golf team will be back in action today as the Lakers will travel to Metcalfe County for a match with Hart County and Allen County.

The Lady Laker Golf team was also in action over the weekend.

The Lady Lakers played in the Joy of Golf tournament at Wild Turkey Trace Golf Course in Lawrenceburg.

The Lady Lakers shot a score of 454 on the day.

It was Madalyn Wright leading the way for Russell County with a score of 88, followed by Carleen Meyers at 115, Catherine Wright at 118, and Carly Shearer at 133.

The Lady Lakers are back in action tomorrow as they will host Lincoln County for a match at Lakewood Country Club.
