Lady Laker Volleyball opens season with district win over Monroe

The Russell County Lady Laker Volleyball team opened its season with a district win over Monroe County Tuesday night.

The Lady Lakers defeated the Lady Falcons in three sets for a 3-0 win. The Lady Lakers took the first set 25-17 and followed that with an impressive 25-9 decision in the second set before clinching the victory in the third set by a score of 25-14.

The JV team was in action as well, picking up the win in two sets by scores of 21-16 and 21-12.

The Lady Lakers will host their home opener on Thursday as freshman, JV, and varsity teams will host Adair County.
