As progress continues toward the new athletic complex at Russell County High School, the Russell County Board of Education voted Monday night to name the new baseball field after the school’s winningest baseball coach.
The board voted unanimously to name the new field after Laker Baseball head coach David Rexroat.
Rexroat holds the school record for all-time wins by a head coach and is coming off a program-record 31-win season and an appearance in the state title game.
The new complex hopes to be open for the 2023-2024 school year.
