‘Kevin’s Kids’ concert brings in over $87,000

The ‘Kevin’s Kids’ benefit concert, the first one since 2019 due to the pandemic, brought in more than $87,000 in donations on Saturday night for the children of Russell County through the school district’s family resource and youth service centers.

Gaither musician and Russell County native Kevin Williams has headed up the event since it began in 2014 and this year’s event at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church featured Gaither musicians Wes Hampton and Matthew Holt, among other local talent.

The $87,145.44 raised will all go toward the operation of the youth service and family resource centers and provide for economically disadvantaged children in the community. The primary goal of these centers is to remove non-academic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.
