The Russell County Middle School Softball team opened its season with a win over Cumberland County.
The Lady Lakers came away with a 5-4 win.
Kaelyn Campbell drove in three runs for the Lady Lakers, and Madelyn Roy drove in two runs.
Brylie Jo Hardwick earned the win for the Lady Lakers, pitching six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out five.
The Lady Lakers are back in action tomorrow when they host Wayne County at 5 p.m.
