Man charged with murder denied bond reduction

The man charged with the November 2021 murder of his spouse, 38-year-old Christopher Glenn Coffey, was denied a requested bond reduction by Judge Vernon Miniard Jr. during a pretrial conference on Tuesday in Russell Circuit Court, according to court records.

Jordan N. Coffey’s bond remains at $500,000 cash or $1 million property.

Coffey, age 27, was indicted by a grand jury in Russell Circuit Court in January on charges of murder in the stabbing death, along with a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

The murder reportedly occurred on Friday, November 26th, according to Kentucky State Police, and Coffey was located in Putnam County, Tennessee the following Monday.

There will be another pretrial conference in the case on June 14th, 2022.

Coffey remains lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
