An incident over the weekend on Lake Cumberland in neighboring Wayne County began as a rescue call but ended with an arrest being made, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, law enforcement responded to a call at the Twyford Point Road Boat Ramp involving a truck that had gone into the lake.
Police found the truck half-submerged in the water, along with the victim, Troy C. Humble from Monticello.
Law enforcement, the Monticello Fire Department and Wayne County Emergency Services retrieved Humble from the water and he was taken to the hospital for observation.
Humble was later charged with public intoxication, reckless driving and failure to maintain insurance.
