Hospital board meeting today to discuss nursing shortage, CEO contract

The Russell County Hospital Board of Directors will hold a special-called meeting today at 4 p.m. in the boardroom at Duo Broadband.

The board is expected to discuss a nursing compensation plan to deal with a nursing shortage at the hospital and go into executive session to discuss personnel. The board will also discuss a contract of employment for the position of CEO.

In a lengthy meeting earlier this week, the board unanimously passed a motion to extend a contract offer to former Russell County Hospital CEO Scott Thompson to return as CEO.

Most recently, Thompson has served as the CEO of Select Specialty Hospital-Central Kentucky in Danville.
