Casey County couple charged after allegedly dangling child over bridge

A Casey County couple faces criminal charges after allegedly dangling a small child over a bridge.

Dennie Procario, 36, and Kabrina Nester, 28, both of Liberty, both face charges of endangering the welfare of a minor. Procario faces additional charges of wanton endangerment first degree and assault fourth degree – child abuse.

According to a report from the Casey County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officers were called to a domestic disturbance last Thursday morning on Reynolds Creek Road in Casey County.

The caller told dispatchers that a man removed a small child from a car and was holding the child over the side of a bridge.

A witness told law enforcement that the man, later identified as Procario, opened a car door and yelled at Nester, the mother of the child, before opening the back door and removing the child. Procario allegedly held the child over his head as he walked to the side of the bridge and then held the child by its feet as he dangled the child over the side of the bridge.

The man was reportedly yelling and cussing at the child, then threw the child back inside the vehicle, according to the report.

The report said officers spoke to Procario and said there was no fight and he was just playing with the child, a story backed up by Nester.

Procario was lodged in the Casey County Jail.
