Added layer of security coming to RSES entryway

Russell Springs Elementary is the lone school in the county without an added layer of doorway security upon entry. The Russell County Board of Education continued taking steps to correct that problem at their regular monthly meeting on Monday evening. Superintendent Michael Ford gave an update on the issue to WJRS NEWS…

Ford said the district will also be selling several buses and the board amended the upcoming 2022-23 school calendar…

Also at the meeting, Ford announced that the high school will soon be partnering with Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia and creating a teacher education pathway for prospective teachers, complete with dual credit classes and an accompanying student club in an effort to help the district “grow their own” teachers in the future.
