A Wayne County man was arrested on a charge of rape with the victim being under 12 years old.
According to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Jerry Meadows conducted an investigation after the Wayne County Hospital notified law enforcement after the child was taken to the hospital by family members.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of 55-year-old Frank W. Bray of Monticello.
The incident occurred on Dec. 31, 2021, and according to the release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was able to gather enough evidence through forensic interviews and other evidence to make an arrest.
Bray is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond in the Wayne County Detention Center.
