Two Russell Springs residents indicted in Adair County

Two Russell Springs residents were indicted in Adair County stemming from an incident where an inmate escaped the Adair County Jail.

Brad Callinan, the inmate that escaped from the Adair County Regional Jail on Jan. 2, was indicted on charges of escape second degree and being a persistent felony offender.

Callinan was located hiding in a furnace area at a residence off Highway 619 several days later.

One of the individuals accused of helping Callinan escape, Rachael Grimsley, was also indicted on a charge of complicity to escape in the second degree.

According to the sheriff’s office, Grimsley and another man, Charles Gaskin, who is already facing charges for his role in the escape, picked up Callinan at a gas station in Columbia when he escaped from the jail and drove him to Lebanon.

According to the indictment, Grimsley has a $5,000 cash bond. No bond has been set for Callinan.
