Two Laker bowlers claim region title, others advance to state competition

Russell County is home to two region champion bowlers.

Dylan Stringer won the boys regional championship in singles competition, while Makayla Melson won the girls regional championship in singles competition.

The accolades didn’t stop there for Laker bowlers.

Nick Blakey came in second in the regional singles competition, earning a spot in the state competition. On the girls side, Karlie Skaggs finished in 4th place, which also qualified for a spot in the state competition.
