Long-vacant spec building in Russell Springs sold to CFMC

Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. has purchased the nearly 44,000 square foot spec building and the 6.5 acre lot it sits on in the Lake Cumberland Regional Industrial Complex, or former French Valley Business Park, from the Russell County Industrial Development Authority and will utilize the building as a distribution center for its clinic network, to provide conference space, and additional administrative offices.

The facility purchase will create between 80 and 110 new jobs and Dr. Eric Loy, the CEO of Cumberland Family Medical Center, said despite economic and healthcare challenges of the last few years that his company has continued to expand and provide more services across the area.

The announcement came on Monday at a small gathering at Russell Springs City Hall that included Russell County Judge-Executive Gary Robertson, Russell Springs Mayor Eddie Thomas, Jamestown Mayor Regena Hinton, Russell County Industrial Development Board Chairman Clint Voils, Cumberland Family Medical Chief Operating Officer Tracey Antle, Russell Springs Economic Development Director and IDA board member Jeramy Coffey and others.

The company plans to build out the current structure to meet its needs.

Although terms of the purchase were not disclosed, the spec building most recently had a sale price listed of a negotiable $1.25 million on the Russell County Industrial Development Authority’s website.
