* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Portions of SOUTH CENTRAL Kentucky and south central Kentucky, including the following counties, in SOUTH CENTRAL Kentucky, Casey, Green, Lincoln, Logan and Taylor. In south central Kentucky, Adair, Allen, Barren, Clinton, Cumberland, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Simpson and Warren.
* WHEN…Until 830 PM CST /930 PM EST/.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 532 PM CST /632 PM EST/, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. – Some locations that will experience flooding include… Liberty, Glasgow, Columbia, Scottsville, Tompkinsville, Albany, Jamestown, Edmonton, Burkesville and Leslie. – http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
