West files to run for County Judge Executive; filing deadline for partisan offices has passed

Another candidate has joined the race for Russell County Judge Executive.

Brent West, a Democrat, has filed to run for the office. West is the lone Democrat, so he will be unopposed in the primary, while 7 other candidates will be on the ballot as Republican candidates for the office in the May primary.

The candidate filing deadline for partisan offices has now passed.

Candidates running for nonpartisan offices, such as mayor, city council, and school board, have until June 7 to file for election.
