Russell County home completely destroyed by fire Saturday night

Home Owned by Timmy Stephens

A Russell County home was completely destroyed by fire Saturday night.

The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a call around 11 p.m. Saturday to a home on Stephens Ridge Road, just off Highway 619 in the Bernard Ridge area.

According to fire chief Jeff Landers, the home, owned by Tim Stephens, was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Landers told WJRS News that firefighters from Russell Springs also joined in the fighting the blaze, and all were hampered by snow, ice and freezing temperatures.

A garage shop next to the house received only minimal damage, according to Landers.
