Lakers Win Lone Road Duel Meet of Season

The Lakers traveled to Lindsey Wilson’s Holloway Natatorium on Tuesday evening to take on Region 3 foe Adair County in the Lakers lone road duel meet of the season.  The Lakers were excited to be swimming their first road meet in 2 years.  This was the first road meet for many of this young team which is comprised of eight 7th & 8thgraders.

The Lady Lakers won by a score of 95-26, with the men securing a win by a score of 90-68 over the Indians of Adair County.

The Lady Lakers had a trio of swimmers come away with wins in both events they swam on the night securing 12 points each for the Lady Lakers.  Marlei DeVore won the 200 IM, and 100 Backstroke.  Allie Mann won her events of the 50 Free and 100 Free.  Ally Stephens also was unbeaten in the meet with wins in the 200 Free and 100 Breaststroke.

The men’s top scorers were Jacob Phillips scoring 10 points with a victory in 100 Breaststroke, and a hard-fought 2nd place in 50 freestyle.  Senior Dawson Haydon was victorious in 100 Fly and was 3rd in the 200 Free putting up 9 points for the men.  Ethan Coe rounded out the top 3 scorers for the Lakers with 8 points with a win in 100 Back, and 4th in 200 Free.

The Lakers are back in action on Thursday at 6:00pm as they wrap up the regular season with a muti team meet. The Lakers welcome Adair, Campbellsville, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Southwestern, and Taylor all to the ANC to get those last swims in before post season competition next week.
