The Kentucky Community and Technical College System, of which Somerset Community College is a part, has unveiled a first-of-its-kind online GIS, or mapping, program to forecast future workforce and education needs in Kentucky.
This tool is designed to improve lawmakers’, community leaders’, researchers’ and other stakeholders’ understanding of the trends emerging at the intersection of education and workforce development.
The tool hopes to provide clear alignment between KCTCS-offered programs, workforce needs and challenges facing Kentucky’s industries to better identify and respond to location specific situations.
