Russell County Hospital is planning a major sewer renovation.
RCH Director of Physical Plant Operations Mike Egnew told the hospital’s board of directors recently that the hospital has expended around $275,000 to upgrade the system, which is around 40 years old and reportedly in desperate need of repairs.
Egnew said the hospital is prioritizing renovating the sewer system in the operating room area, but the system throughout the hospital needs to be replaced.
The cost of such a project is unknown, as the board told Egnew to come back with a specific proposal amount at an upcoming board of directors meeting.
