The Laker Country 104.9 Cares Radiothon raised more than $206,000 for the Mayfield Graves County Tornado Relief Fund following the devastating EF-4 tornado that tore through the Mayfield area late last Friday night.
Citizens, businesses, schools and churches answered the call here in Russell County as the four-plus hour radiothon, hosted by Jeff Hoover, more than doubled its goal of $100,000. The money raised will be personally delivered to Graves County officials this coming Monday.
Again, thank you for your outpouring of love and generosity for our friends and neighbors in western Kentucky. From change donated by students at our elementary schools to the churches and businesses who went above and beyond, Laker County 104.9 appreciates the efforts of all those who graciously donated.
