Taxes lowered in Jamestown, city preparing for trunk or treat next Saturday

The Jamestown City Council approved the lowering of tax rates in the city Thursday night.

The property tax rate will be at 16.8 and tangible will remain the same at 17.9.

The city is also preparing for trunk or treat festivities on Saturday, Oct. 30

Mayor Nick Shearer said there will be inflatables and a costume contest sponsored by Citizens National Bank.

Traffic will be diverted in the area and alternate routes will be in place.
