A Russell County man has entered a plea of guilty to several drug related charges in Wayne County and has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Barney Warner, age 36 of Russell Springs entered pleas of guilty to four counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance while in possession of a firearm, all Class B felonies, and four counts of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
Warner’s arrest several months ago was the result of an investigation by the Monticello Police Department which uncovered a drug trafficking operation at a Monticello hotel.
Warner’s plea agreement to the charges resulted in him recently being sentenced to 18 years in prison by Circuit Judge Vernon Miniard, Jr.
