The Russell County Laker Football team fell to Franklin-Simpson Friday night by a score of 43-7.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early 21-0 lead after the first quarter and took a 36-0 lead going into halftime.
Lakers Quarterback Gavin Gossage scored on a 28-yard touchdown run with about 5 minutes remaining in the game to give the Lakers their lone score on the night.
The Lakers now sit at 2-5 on the season, and will be off this week before hosting Elizabethtown on Friday, Oct. 15.
After that, the Lakers will travel to Allen County-Scottsville for a district matchup on Oct. 22 and host their final regular season game against LaRue County on Oct. 29.
